ASTRA Solutions is now seeking a Business Systems Analyst for our client in Houston, Texas. This is a 6 month contract with a possibility to extend.. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in IT. The compensation for this role is $45-$55 per hour. Qualified candidates will be contacted within 24 hours. 

Job Description:
•Build strong relationships with Leaders in the Measurement areas 
•Works with Measurement managers & the Measurement COE and Managers to provide input for charters, business requirements, project estimates/schedules and test plans 
•Provide assistance in the coordination of software releases/upgrades 
•Serve as the subject matter expert and Business Partner between Information Technology Application, Infrastructure team(s) and Business/End user team(s) 
•Translate business requirements into technical specifications to formulate technical solutions that conform to best practice standards 
•Conduct requirements engineering, business system testing, making recommendations based on information collected 
•Ensure maintenance, development and enhancement of existing application systems meets the organizational business objectives and Information Management standards 
•Remediate application system issues through appropriate troubleshooting, Incident, Change and Problem management standards using Service Now 
•Evaluate, develop and implement new application systems, developing technical requirements following standards for software development lifecycle 
•Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives 
•Identify continuous improvement opportunities for cost reduction, avoidance, and improved application performance 
•Interact and resolve issues with other IM support teams including Applications, Infrastructure, and Outsource Provider 
•Modernize, upgrade and conduct application health checks as required to ensure system stability 
•Work with assigned resources to manage project related activities for assigned applications 
•Conduct system access reviews for application area 
•Competent to work in some phases of systems analysis and consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment 

•Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, CS, other related IT field preferred, STEM degree or equivalent work experience 
•A minimum of five years of IT experience. 
•Possess specialized, in-depth knowledge and experience with operational practices specific to oil and gas. 
•Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Microsoft Projects 
•Prior experience with Pipeline or Natural Gas Transportation related applications preferred 
•Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment 
•Ability to work effectively on tight deadlines as necessary 
•Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals 
•Superior written and verbal communication skills 
•Advanced experience with problem solving, process improvement, requirements gathering, quality assurance, documentation, and reporting 
•Familiarity with risk and compliance assessment methodologies and standards 
• SQL and Database knowledge a plus
